Our Services
1
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours.
For children with autism or dual diagnoses, CBT can: Reduce anxiety by teaching coping skills and strategies. Improve emotional regulation and resilience. Help with social skills by addressing cognitive distortions like self-doubt or misinterpretation of social cues.

For parents and caregivers, CBT can: Teach stress management and coping techniques. Help parents reframe unhelpful thoughts (e.g., “I’m not doing enough”) into more constructive ones.
2
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT is particularly effective for emotional regulation and managing intense feelings.
For children it teaches skills in four areas: 1) Mindfulness: Increases awareness of emotions and experiences. 2) Distress tolerance: Helps manage crises without impulsive actions. 3)Emotional regulation: Reduces the intensity of emotional reactions. 4) Interpersonal effectiveness: Builds healthier relationships.
For parents and caregivers DBT can: Build emotional resilience and improve communication with your child. Offer tools to navigate crises and reduce caregiver burnout.

3
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR addresses trauma and anxiety by helping the brain process and reframe distressing memories.
For children with autism, who may be more vulnerable to sensory or social trauma, EMDR can: Reduce anxiety stemming from past events. Improve self-esteem and confidence. Decrease the impact of sensory or social triggers.
For parents and caregivers EMDR can: Help process personal trauma or stress that may affect your caregiving. Reduce emotional triggers tied to caregiving challenges.
4
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS explores the different "parts" of a child’s internal world, fostering self-compassion and understanding.
For children with autism or dual diagnoses, IFS can: Help them understand conflicting emotions (e.g., wanting to make friends but feeling afraid). Improve their ability to express feelings and needs. Encourage self-acceptance and reduce internal conflicts

For parents and caregivers, IFS can: Encourage self-reflection and healing of your own emotional "parts." Enhance family dynamics by improving communication and understanding.
5
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT focuses on helping individuals live meaningful lives by embracing their thoughts and emotions rather than fighting against them.
For children and teens with autism or dual diagnoses, ACT can: Support emotional regulation by teaching skills to accept difficult feelings without becoming overwhelmed. Encourage value-driven actions to focus on what truly matters to them. Improve coping skills for managing stress, anxiety, and challenging situations.

For parents and caregivers ACT can: Foster emotional resilience, allowing parents to accept and navigate challenging emotions. Promote mindful, value-driven parenting, enabling deeper connection and clarity in the caregiving journey.
